Seton Hall, Rutgers still holding out for fall sports in New Jersey

As of Friday, July 31, Drew University has postponed all in-conference sports contests for the fall semester. The decision came following a unanimous vote by the Landmark Conference Executive Board to postpone all contests within the conference for all schools. In terms of New Jersey colleges, only Seton Hall and Rutgers still plan to go forward with their fall sports programs and will play in-conference games only.

Cristina Fernandez receives 2020 Student Servant Leader Award

Three summers ago, Cristina Fernandez was preparing for her first year as a biology major and cross-country runner at Seton Hall. Her passion for medicine and helping others was the driving force behind her studies, and she wasted no time getting involved with clubs that shared similar passions. Fernandez joined the Seton Hall chapter of MEDLIFE her freshman year despite it only having about five members, but the chapter’s annual summer trip to South America would prove to be an eye-opener for what Fernandez planned to do after college.

Bryan Felt looks back on his first year as Seton Hall’s Director of Athletics

In his first year as Director of Athletics and Recreation at Seton Hall, Bryan Felt went through a rollercoaster of experiences and unprecedented issues to deal with. An alumnus of Seton Hall, Felt joined the athletics department as director after serving in the same role for the past two years at St. Peter’s University. He had previously worked within the Pirates’ athletics department as Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs and later as Senior Associate Athletics Director. We caught up with Felt to see how he was adjusting to life in quarantine and to recap the events of his first year back at Seton Hall.

Ali Simmons continues to improve coaching skill set outside of Seton Hall

Before arriving at Seton Hall, Ali Simmons already had a gleaming resume with two NCAA Division II national championships with Barry University and the University of Charleston on it. As is the case for most up-and-coming college soccer coaches, Simmons is well-traveled and has made connections with various coaches and players from all over the country. However, his work outside of the college soccer realm also speaks volumes for the talent and potential he has when it comes to coaching at the highest levels of the sport.

Hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand, Michal “Mikey” Matson made a name for herself as both a singles and doubles tennis player for Seton Hall. Earlier Friday morning, the team's Instagram page posted a link to a GoFundMe page created by Seton Hall men’s soccer alumnus David Arvidsson in support of rising senior defender Oscar Nävarp.
