Pirates continue to struggle in Big East

The women's basketball team dropped their second straight Big East game to open up the conference season with a 79-38 loss at home to Syracuse Orange. The loss dropped the Pirates overall record to 8-7 and put the team last in the Big East at 0-2.

CANCUN, MEXICO- Faced with their final non-conference test of the season and needing a signature out-of-conference win, the Pirates fell to Virginia Tech in overtime, 103-94, from the Poliforum Benito Juarez.

The Pirates extended their season-long win streak to seven with their 86-68 win over the Massachusetts Minutemen on Monday night at Prudential Center.

Pirates keep streak alive

For the first time in school history the basketball team beat their opponent by more than 29 points. The record was set after an 89-56 defeat of Hartford giving the Hall their sixth straight victory to start the season.

Pope and Hazell lead rout of NJIT

In only its third year at the Division I level, the NJIT men's basketball team had already exceeded its all-time win total with two victories heading into its match up with Seton Hall.
