Men's basketball team takes shape

The Pirates' summer began with the announcement that Jeremy Hazell and Jeff Robinson will return for their senior seasons after much discussion around potentially entering the NBA draft. Additionally, Herb Pope, who led the Big East in rebounds last season, is projected to make a full recovery from unexpectedly collapsing after a workout in late April.

The Seton Hall men's basketball team added another piece to the puzzle last week with the signing of 6-foot-11-inch Englishman Aaron Geramipoor of the Canarias Basketball Academy to a national letter of intent for the 2010-11 season.

The Seton Hall women's basketball team recently acquired transfer Tarjay Ashmeade, a 6-foot-3-inch junior center, for the upcoming season. The roster update was announced by new head coach Anne Donovon Friday.

The Big East Conference released the 2010-11 men's basketball opponents matrix on Thursday which revealed that the Pirates will be facing Rutgers, Syracuse and Marquette both at home and on the road.

Reports: Pope resting at home

UPDATE: Since his release from St. Barnabas Medical Center, Pope has been seen on the Seton Hall campus several times by editors of The Setonian. Each time, Pope was dressed in Pirates athletic gear.

Only one day before the spring signing period ended, Seton Hall continued making off-season strides by signing Patrik Auda and Anali Okoloji, head coach Kevin Willard announced this past Friday.

Auda agrees to play for Hall

Kevin Willard has made his first big signing as head coach of the Seton Hall Pirates. 6-foot 9-inch power forward Patrik Auda, hailing from the Czech Republic, has signed a letter of intent to play under Willard according to multiple reports at Zagsblog.com and NJ Hoops Haven.

Sophomore forward Herb Pope, who collapsed while working out on April 28, is expected to make a "full recovery" and possibly return to the basketball court next fall, according to multiple sources cited by Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog.com

Late season slump dooms softball

Finishing the season on a downward turn, the Pirates' softball team lost a doubleheader on Wednesday to the Stony Brook Seawolves, 6-2 and 2-0. The loss extends to Hall's losing streak to seven consecutive games and puts the team at 19-31 (8-11) as the regular season ends.
