Women's golf starts season with strong performance

Two juniors paced the women's golf team in the season opener at the 2013 Lady Bison Invitational over the weekend, as the team used a strong third round to find themselves in a second place tie, ten strokes behind tournament winner William & Mary.

Wunderkind Hero

With just 10 seconds left on the clock in another double over-time game, the Seton Hall men's soccer team was headed for a third straight draw, barring some type of heroic intervention.

New 'Rock' Stars

Five new faces will usher in the 2013-14 men's basketball season. Freshmen Jaren Sina and Rashed Anthony, junior college transfers Hakeem Harris and Stephane Manga, and red-shirt sophomore Sterling Gibbs will all don the blue and white.

Experience and growth for Pettigrew

A grueling 90 minutes in net on a scorching hot day in August left fifth-year senior Jennifer Pettigrew exhausted, nearly panting while she searched for the perfect word to describe what will lead to a success- ful women's soccer season: growth.

The Common Athlete

Intramural softball is being converted into a one-pitch week- end tournament and kickball tournaments will be expanded as part of the changes taking place in intramural sports this year.

Seton Hall drops opener to St. John's

Seton Hall's run of 13 consecutive victories came to an end Thursday as the Pirates fell 4-3 to the St. John's Red Storm. The loss is the Hall's first in Big East play with senior Jon Prosinski starting and ends their chances at winning a share of the Big East regular season title.

Seton Hall finishes sweep of No. 20 South Florida

For the third time in two days, junior Brian Gilbert was on the mound getting the last out of a victory over No. 20 South Florida to complete the series sweep. The Pirates extended the nation's longest winning streak in the nation to 12 games and improved to 33-16 overall and 16-5 in the Big East.

Senior pitches way into record books

Every Friday for the past two seasons, senior Jon Prosinski has gotten the start as the ace of the Pirates' pitching staff. Now with his Pirates career coming to a close, Prosinski will be leaving the program as one of the best pitchers in school history.
