Students at risk for identity theft, be wary

The worries on every college student’s mind typically involve graduation, employment and of course, paying off student loans. But recent statistics show that college-age students are more likely to be the victims of identity theft than any other age group.

Government insists on sexual assault awareness survey

The Campus Climate Survey has been recently circulating to Seton Hall students via e-mail and at first glance, readers may not realize how important a topic it is. The survey is part of a government initiative to get colleges and universities talking about sexual assault and violence on campus.

Obama’s college plan not to largely affect SHU

In 2012, 71 percent of all students (about 1.3 million undergraduates) graduating from four-year colleges had student loan debt, according to The Project on Student Debt at the Institute for College Access and Success.

On-campus internships offered

It is no surprise that Seton Hall is known for providing students with incredible internships off campus in great places such as New York City. However, a lot of students do not realize that they could gain career experience right on campus.

Snow day setbacks:

Seton Hall has been closed for almost all of the past three Mondays. One closing, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Jan. 19, was scheduled, but the other one and a half closings were due to severe weather conditions. In total, there have been two and a half closings due to weather this semester.

Stalking: Know it. Name it. Stop it.'

January is National Stalking Awareness Month, and Public Safety has placed posters around campus to raise awareness about the dangers of stalking and to assure the safety of the Seton Hall community.

Seton Hall community reacts to proposed medical school

Buzz over the proposed medical school has swept across Seton Hall’s campus following the University’s announcement on Jan. 15 of plans to join with Hackensack University Health Network in creating a private medical school at the former Hoffman-LaRoche campus in Nutley, N.J. Dr. Brian Shulman, dean of the School of Health and Medical Sciences, said in an email that Seton Hall’s medical community has received “written accolades from a number of individuals across the country about our recent announcement.”

Faculty will meet to discuss proposed School of Communication and the Arts

Dean Michael Zavada of the College of Arts and Sciences has called the faculty of the College to a special meeting set for Feb. 6 to evaluate a proposal for the creation of a new School of Communication and the Arts. The existing Department of Communication and the Arts--one of the largest departments in the University--will provide details on a proposal to establish a new school.
