Pirates pillage court competition

Seton Hall's Mock Trial Team has qualified for the first time to compete in the National Championship Tournament held at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN from April 16 to April 18.

Tuition increases set

Beginning with the summer 2010 semester, students will endure a larger bill, as Seton Hall University's tuition will increase by five percent.

Members of the Seton Hall community reported that they received phishing e-mails regarding storage limits from a source claiming to be from Seton Hall. Various reports were made about links popping up on computers asking for personal information in an email.

Village shop sponsors Yele Haiti

The South Orange Yele Haiti Donation Center has been a hot topic on Wyclef Jean's personal blog lately. The founder and rapper has posted volunteer opportunities and walkthrough videos of the shop that doubles as a donation center.

Hall's ONE ranks, up for votes

The ONE chapter at Seton Hall is ranked in the top 10 most active chapters in the nation, and will be launching its final campaign project on campus next week.

"Celebrate Life Week 2010" will launch next week as part of an initiative by Seton Hall United for Life members to raise awareness and educate the Seton Hall community about the protection of life from natural conception to natural death.

New loan system adopted

Seton Hall is moving from the Federal Family Education Loan to a direct lending program, a change that will take effect in the 2010- 2011 academic year.

Platforms discussed at 'Meet the Candidates'

More than 20 students spoke at the Student Government Association's Meet the Candidates Night on Monday, hoping to win a seat on next year's Senate. Though the turnout was high, several seats are still available and most are uncontested.

SHLI conference offers variety

The annual Seton Hall Leadership Institute Conference (SHLI), taking place on March 27 in the University Center, will offer 37 different leadership workshops this year, emphasizing more variety in the student leadership, and giving students the opportunity to network with others leaders on campus.

Charter Day to present service awards

The Bishop Bernard J. McQuaid Medal, as well as the Servant Leader Scholarship award, will be presented at the annual Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Charter Day Convocation on April 21 at 4 p.m. in Jubilee Hall Auditorium.

Off-campus housing fair launches tutorial

The Village Liaisons are sponsoring an Off Campus Living Fair on March 30 in the Main Lounge. The fair will host different property owners and managers in South Orange and surrounding area with available place for students to rent off campus.

Laptops chosen for sophomore refresh

As part of Seton Hall's Mobile Computing Program, sophomore students will begin receiving their new laptops on April 19 during laptop refresh. Recently, PC Support Services has developed a program, called a Request for Proposals, which allowed PCSS to set up meetings with vendors and review the technology they offer Seton Hall's Mobile computing program.

Online summer classes offer convenience

Summer classes have a new format this year including a May intersession, which takes place from May 18 to June 7; summer session 1, which takes place June 9- June 28; and summer session 2 takes place July 6 to August 9. However, students now have the opportunity to enroll in a summer online course instead.

TB case on campus

A case of pulmonary (lung) tuberculosis, has been confirmed on campus according to Health Services. An announcement was sent on Monday detailing the outbreak.
