“50 Shades of Grey” has become a phenomena in popular culture, with controversy being hurled at it from all angles. There have even been journal articles written by people with doctrates who believe that the erotica in the novel and film promotes sexism and domestic violence.

The teenage nightmare of peer pressure presented in the movie, “Mean Girls” can cross its virtual boundaries and become a reality. There could be a Regina George in your life, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be a manipulative and materialistic ice queen who’s the head of a popular group like “The Plastics.”

You may have heard of award ceremonies such as Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice awards, the Grammys, Emmys and Oscars. However, another awards ceremony is going on as well, the Jersey Arts Awards, and one of the candidates is the South Orange Performing Arts Center.
