Seton Hall suspends in-person classes, orders faculty to go virtual in response to COVID-19 outbreak

On Tuesday, Seton Hall University has suspended all in-person classes between Wednesday March 11 until March 13. The University also said that all in-person classes and lectures will now be online classes beginning on Monday, March 16 through at least March 22 as the coronavirus continues to spread nationwide.

Poll: Students against ‘bring your own device’ program

A recent Setonian poll found that more than half of all respondents did not like the idea of a “bring your own device” laptop program like the one currently being proposed by the University to replace the current mobile computing program provided by Seton Hall. The current program provides full-time students two laptops over the course of eight semesters at $275 per semester.

SHU halts China M.B.A. program amid virus outbreak

Seton Hall University’s Health Services sent out new guidance regarding novel coronavirus, the latest flu-like virus which is thought to have originated in the Hubei province of China in Wuhan City. The direction, which was sent out in an email blast to the University community advised students and faculty who have been in close contact with someone confirmed to have the coronavirus for 14 days and contact health services immediately.

Seton Hall proposes plan to eliminate laptop program

Three senior officials from Seton Hall University presented their case for the elimination of Seton Hall’s mobile computing program and took questions from Senators at Monday night’s Student Government Association meeting. The presentation came two weeks after SGA President Rishi Shah announced that the University was considering a phaseout of the program as soon as next year.

SGA changes election ticket policy

The Student Government Association (SGA) will be changing the way they handle tickets during elections. In the past, senate tickets could affiliate themselves with an executive board ticket. However, due to the new policy change, executive board tickets and senate tickets must be separated. They will no longer be able to run as one big ticket.

University to create Division of University Relations

University celebrates Investiture of President

The Seton Hall community welcomed its 21st President Dr. Joseph E. Nyre on Nov. 15 in the Walsh Gymnasium. Administration, students, local leaders and clerical leaders were among those intendence to celebrate the installation of Nyre, where he said he will approach the position “with a sense of honor, excitement and profound humility.”
