The Seton Hall women's basketball team looks to record its first Big East conference win on the road at Providence.
The Pirates have a record of 0-11 in Big East play and 7-18 overall, after losing to Georgetown on Wednesday night 56-51.
Senior guard Jasmine Crew led the Pirates with 18 points, nine of which came at the foul line, and senior forward Tajay Ashmeade pulled down 11 rebounds in the defeat.
Junior Brittany Morris contributed 11 points.
Providence enters the game with a 4-7 Big East record, 12-12 overall.
In their last game, the Friars fell to Cincinnati 60-56 at home on Tuesday. Sophomore guard Alicia Cropper netted a team-high 14 points in the loss.
The matchup should be low-scoring, as Providence and Seton Hall are the two worst-scoring teams in the Big East. The Friars average 56 points per game while the Pirates scores 55.2 points per game.
Crew leads the Pirates in scoring this season with 18.1 points per game, adding 3.4 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game.
Morris is the only other Pirate who scores double-digit points per game, with 11.2.
Defensively, the Friars rank 10th in scoring, allowing 59 points per game, while the Hall allows 62.2 points a game, 14th in the conference.
Both teams have struggled to consistently score, but the Pirates hold an advantage at the free throw line.
They make 68.8 percent of their free throws in comparison to Providence, who is last in the Big East at 62.8 percent.
A key matchup in the paint will be between Providence senior forward Teya Wright and Ashmeade.
Wright is second in the Big East in rebounding, averaging 9.1 boards per game to go along with a team-leading 13.3 points per game. Ashmeade is fifth in the conference with 8.3 rebounds a game.
Wright leads the league with 4.3 offensive rebounds per game while Ashmeade is third, pulling down with 3.8 offensive boards.
Both players are also in the top 10 in defensive rebounds per game.
The Friars also receive key contributions from senior Rachel Barnes, who averages 10.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
Seton Hall has not defeated Providence since Jan. 26, 2008 when they picked up a 58-43 victory against the Friars on the road. Over their last six meetings, Providence is 2-4.
The matchup with the Friars on Saturday with tip-off set for 2 p.m.
