Senior determined to enjoy remainder of time in college

It may only be the beginning of my senior year, but the end of this chapter of my life is coming much too quickly and at times I wish it would slow down just a little bit.

We are only one month into the school year, and it seems like ev­eryone is already asking me what I am doing after graduation.

Am I going to grad school? Am I going to get a job? Am I going to take time off and travel?

To tell you the truth, I have ab­solutely no idea.

Graduation in eight months feels like forever from now when I am just trying to make it to fall break alive.

I do not want to close any of the doors open to me, but dead­lines for graduate school are right around the corner, which means the GREs need to be taken very soon.

Who has time to study for a long standardized test when there are term papers, internships, exams and extracur­ricular activities? Senior year has been one of the most challenging times in my life in juggling all of my responsibilities.

For my last year, I just want to enjoy the free time I have, how­ever little it may actually be, be­cause once I become a "big girl" and start to work full time, the op­portunity for spontaneous outings and late-night gossip sessions will be slim-to-none. I will have to fo­cus primarily on career.

Whether or not this is my last year of schooling for the rest of my life, I would like a moment to enjoy the time I have left as an un­dergrad.

I will miss the people, activities, events and various places in South Orange after I cross the stage and receive my diploma, or at least the diploma holder.

I am not going to wallow in the things I will miss in the future when right now I have the oppor­tunity to still do those things.

So next time someone asks me what I plan to do after graduation, I will slap them.

I am totally kidding, but for right now I am just going to enjoy being a college student while I can still call myself one and not worry so much about my future endeavors.
