With the regular season complete, the Big East announced Wednesday afternoon that Tabatha Richardson-Smith was unanimously selected to the All-Big East First Team, while fellow Seton Hall players Aleesha Powell and Shakena Richardson were recognized with All-Big East Honorable Mention honors.
After being named to the All-Big East Second Team in both her sophomore and junior seasons, Richardson-Smith was named to the First Team as a senior. The three-time Big East Player of the Week and four-time Weekly Honor Roll member led Seton Hall and the Big East with 21.7 points per game in conference play, and is SHU’s first Big East scoring champion in program history. conference at the free throw line with an 83.3-percent mark, holds the single game-high
for a Big East player with 34 points and is one of two players in the conference to rank top-five in both scoring and rebounding.
In regard to the All-Big East Honorable Mention team, both Powell and Richardson both received nods. In her first and only season at Seton Hall, Powell ranked in the top-15 in the Big East in scoring, field goal percentage, three-point percentage, free throw percentage, minutes played and steals. This is her first Big East honor, though she previously earned All-Rookie and All-Conference honors while playing at Iona, where she was coached by current Seton Hall head coachTony Bozzella for two years.

For Richardson, this is her first career-conference honor. With her scoring and passing
prowess, she ranks in the top-20 Big East scorers with 11.8 points per game and holds the second spot in the league and 28th nationally with 5.6 assists per game. Her assist/turnover ratio in conference play is 2.2, good for fifth-best in the Big East.
The three Pirate All-Conference honorees tie for tops among teams in the league, and the feat is achieved for the seventh time in Seton Hall program history. Nine players have received All-League nods in Bozzella’s three seasons at Seton Hall.
The three All-Conference seniors and the Pirates will be back in action Sunday, March 6 when No. 3-seeded Seton Hall plays No. 6-seeded Marquette in the quarterfinal of the Big East Championship at 3:30 p.m. on FS2.
