When it comes to food, New Jersey is nothing short of fabulous, stuffed with places to eat that will fix your munchies, fill your stomachs and lead you to a food coma. 1. Delta’s Restaurant Located in the heart of New Brunswick, Delta dishes up a non-traditional Southern taste. It’s not common to come across sweet potato cheesecake at a restaurant or a plate of fluffy sweet potato waffles served with crispy fried chicken. Delta’s offer brunches and live music daily creating a pleasant enjoyable experience for their guest. 2. Tops As the name promises, Tops is among one of the top places for locals to grab a quick bite in New Jersey. Whether it is 6 a.m. on a weekday or 3 a.m. on the weekend, the place is always running. Tops gets a lot of service late at night after club hours. This diner located in East Newark serves spectacular handcrafted burgers to signature choices of omelets. However, everybody can’t get enough of their creamy lobster mac and cheese topped with crunchy bread crumbs. 3. Cuban Pete’s Take a trip to Cuba for a phenomenal meal without taking flight. This restaurant, located in Montclair is always packed due to high demand for their well-seasoned food. The tropical taste of their coconut rice is a must try. The price is well worth it, and you will not be disappointed. 4. White Rose The White Rose Diners are open 24 hours and are known for one of the 101 Best Burgers in America. Every meal is made fresh, which explains customers’ craving for their signature burgers. White Rose cooks their ground beef on an ancient griddle with onions pressed in before it’s flipped. The diners serve anything from greasy foods to hearty breakfast platters. White Rose is located in Highland Park and Linden. 5. Hibiscus Restaurant Dine, Caribbean style. The Hibiscus is an upscale, but warming Caribbean restaurant located inside the Morristown Inn in Morristown. They are best known for their Jamaican dish, Jerk chicken and salt fish platter. Don’t worry, they serve soft fried dumplings to go with the salt fish too. 6. Village Trattoria Village trattoria of South Orange should be on your food bucket list for their breathtaking pizza. They have a wide variety of pizza toppings to choose from whether it’s a buffalo wing or fried calamari pizza. Village Trattoria has over 15 variety of their famous specialty pizza toppings which you cannot find anywhere else. 7. Papillon 25 It’s tough to come across a wellcooked seafood platter, but Papillon 25 ensures their guests a variety to pick from when dining. Their most famous dish is their red snapper stuffed with curried crab meat. This meal is made fresh with every bite to perfection. The restaurant is located in South Orange. 8. Benihana For a fun dining experience, head over to Benihana in Edison where the chef cooks before you. This is an Asian restaurant where the chef is fun, entertaining and engaging. 9. Pinho’s Bakery The well-designed pastries on the shelf do no justice to the taste of Pinho’s baking. The bakery is a family-owned business in Roselle with mouthwatering pastries and desserts. The baking is done from scratch in the old fashioned way. Pinho’s bakery also offers a deli which serves breakfast and lunch as well. 10. Lemon Mediterranean Restaurant Lemon Mediterranean in Freehold is known for their smooth and thin hummus with a delectable flavor. Their stuffed mushroom appetizer is a must try. The grilled Portobello mushroom is stuffed with shrimp, crabmeat, prosciutto, roasted red peppers, and spinach. To top it all off, a rich creamy champagne sauce is also added.
