"The Bachelor" mansion is filled with love-struck bachelorettes once again, but this time 27 women live there, rather than 25.
The record-breaking 18thseason of "The Bachelor" premiered Jan.6, featuring the first Latino bachelor, Juan Pablo Galavis. Galavis was last seen with bachelorette Desiree Hartsock on the previous season, one of the 25 gentlemen vying for her love and attention. Sadly, Galavis was sent packing, only going on group dates during his airtime, but he left a lasting impression on fans.
The premiere began with host Chris Harrison introducing some of the women and Galavis getting a surprise from prior bachelor Sean Lowe. Lowe and Galavis shared some memories of previous seasons, and Lowe gave advice, throwing in a few laughs here and there.
Single father and retired professional soccer player Galavis met 27 young women, and he exclaimed he had no idea how he was going to send any of the women packing. Like every first night in the mansion, it was chaotic. During the premiere, Sharleen caught the bachelor's attention, receiving the first impression and most crucial rose.
Other women who seemed to have strong connections with Galavis from the start were very outgoing and shared their background. This included Renee, who also lives in Florida and is a single mother; Andi, the last to step out of the limo, who is a prosecutor; and Alli, who started the night off on a good kick by bringing her soccer ball.
In the end Galavis had to send some of the women packing although he had a blast dancing and getting to know them the whole night. The exits were emotional, with the contestant Lauren having a moment because of her breakup with her fianc?©e before applying to be on the show. Other exits included a massage therapist, a banker and a nursing home owner, among others.
Dedicated fans are swooning with excitement about what is to come and are very hopeful, just as Galavis is, that he will not only find his true love and wife but a stepmother for his 4-year-old daughter, Camila.
