Seton Hall Athletics[/caption]
The Seton Hall women’s golf team completed the final round of the William & Mary Invitational in Williamsburg, Va., on Monday, placing ninth out of 12 teams.
The Pirates finished the third and final round with a score of 304, a 16-over-par, and a total score of 928. They moved up two spots in the standings after finishing the first two rounds on Sunday tied for eleventh, while shooting their best score on Monday.
Through the first two rounds, Seton Hall shot a 48-over-par as a team, finishing the weekend with a total score of 624. The Pirates finished the tournament shooting a 64-over-par altogether.
The Pirates’ big jump in the standings can be contributed in part to sophomore Cassie Pantelas, who led the way for Seton Hall by finishing her final round with an even-par, 72, to give her a final score of 221, 7-over-par. Her third-round score pushed her into the top 10 of the overall leaderboard.
Megan Tenhundfeld also had a strong finish for Seton Hall, shooting a 75, 3-over-par, in the final round, to give her a final score of 228, a 13-over-par. Tenhundfeld, a senior, was the only other golfer besides Pantelas to finish in the top 25 of the 65-player field, finishing 22nd overall.
Other Pirates in play at tournament included McKenzie Cutter, who shot an overall of 22-over-par, Macky Fouse, who shot a 25-over-par, and Karlie Zabrosky, who ended with a 26-over-par for the tournament.
Seton Hall returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 19, for the first two rounds of the Lady Bison Fall Classic in Lewisburg, Pa.
