Men's basketball forward Anali Okoloji has decided to depart from the Pirates to pursue transfer opportunities, as was announced by head coach Kevin Willard this morning.
Willard said the amount of playing time he was receiving with the Pirates was a factor in Okoloji's decision.
"We wish Anali the best of luck in his future endeavors," he said. "By transferring, he'll be able to get the increased playing time he desires. We thank him for his hard work last season at Seton Hall."
The 6-foot-8 Brooklyn, N.Y. native originally chose to play at the Hall following a year in the Impact Basketball Academy in Florida during which he averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds and six assists per game.
In his 16 games with the Pirates, Okoloji averaged 1.9 points and one rebound per game in his 3.3 minutes per game. He notched a season-high nine points against NJIT on Dec. 19.
Okoloji posted on his personal Facebook and Twitter accounts about transferring during the last few weeks, directly mentioning he was leaving Seton Hall on Wednesday night.
