Maroon 5 and Train bring twice the rock

Maroon 5 and Train's joint summer tour hit the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden on Aug. 5.

Gavin DeGraw opened the show with a 30-minute set, ending with his 2004 hit "I Don't Want to Be."

Train was the first headliner to play. Their performances sounded just like they do on their albums, showing the mark of true talent.

Pat Monahan was the ultimate front man and bridge to the audience. He knew how to get the crowd going and connected perfectly with audience members.

Train's set consisted of all of their hit songs and fan favorites. Nothing seemed to be missing. At some points, the audience sang along so loudly that it was almost impossible to hear Monahan. When they broke out with covers of U2 and Led Zeppelin, the crowd went crazier than ever.

When Train was finished performing, it seemed unbelievable that there was still a whole other act to be seen. However, when the lights went down and Maroon 5 appeared singing their newest single "Moves Like Jagger," the intensity and the screams from the audience grew even more.

They sang every hit they have had since their first album, "Songs About Jane" and the crowd made sure to sing every word along with them. They transitioned from one song into another without missing a beat or taking a break.

Front man and guitarist Adam Levine not only stunned the audience with his vocals, but with his amazing guitar skills. The entire band's musical talent was displayed on a silver platter with each note they played.

The set was also impressive. Along with the music, they had a great light show with strobe lights of all colors bouncing in every direction adding to the ambience.

It was unbelievable how both bands were able to play exactly what the audience wanted to hear in the hour and a half they were allotted. Whoever came up with the idea for these two bands to tour together as co-headliners belongs in Mensa, because he is a genius. Both bands put on incredible shows that had thousands of people up out of their seats the entire time.

Wish you were there? It's not too late to catch Maroon 5 and Train this summer. They will be playing in Hershey, PA on Aug. 15 and in Holmdel, NJ at the PNC Bank Arts Center on Aug. 26.
