Dance club experience provider GrooveBoston will host a party at Seton Hall's fieldhouse on March 30.
Student Activities Board adviser Mariel Pagan said "this will be the party of the year" and "students will be provided the fun and energy of a dance club in a safe environment right here on campus."
According to the GrooveBoston website, "the experience is centered around the music" and delivers an aggressive mix of intense, high-energy awesomeness.
GrooveBoston plans to turn the fieldhouse into a nightclub-themed party space.
SAB adviser Brian Foley, who worked with the team before at Tufts University, said that students there thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
"These guys are ridiculous," Foley said. Foley added that students are "very lucky" to have the opportunity to see them perform.
Pagan said that based on word from other schools, GrooveBoston is so popular that colleges bring GrooveBoston to campus more than once a year.
Seton Hall student Mary Sarkissian, who is in charge of SAB's concert committee, is leading promotion of GrooveBoston to the campus community.
SAB will put up fliers, distributing ads and publicizing online in order to spread the word around campus.
According to Foley, SAB is reaching out to social networks such as Facebook, using the GrooveBoston website and even making T-shirts to promote the event.
The SAB plans to host a massive crowd, with spots for up to 2,000 students, all of which are allowed to bring one guest, Foley said.
Student Katie Riley said that GrooveBoston is one of the first campus events that she is really looking forward to.
Tickets for the event are free for SHU students and $5 for any guests who would like to attend.
