Garcia's OT winner lifts Pirates over Boston

An overtime goal from sophomore Max Garcia won the game for the men's soccer team on the road against the Boston Terriers by a score of 2-1.

With the game headed into overtime, Garcia took a pass from senior Joe Baker inside the box and chipped it past Boston's freshman goalkeeper Nick Thomson for the winner.

The win improves the team's record to 2-1-1 on the season.

Garcia's winning goal was his third for the year to lead the team. Besides Garcia, senior Giovanni Zammiello scored the other goal for the Pirates in the 60 minute to tie the game at 1-1.

Goalkeeper, sophomore Anthoy Reichwaldt, made seven saves in the game while allowing the one goal. So far this season Reichwaldt allows only 1.16 goals per game for the Hall.

Boston got the scoring started early for the Terriers with a goal in the 10 minute. Boston freshman Dominique Badji headed in a cross from freshman Sanford Spivey to take the early 1-0 lead.

Down 1-0 in the second half the Pirates evened the game with Zammiello scoring off of a cross from freshman Damian Bziukiewicz to even the score at 1-1.

The Pirates return to action at home when they face St. Peter's on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
