Seton Hall's men's basketball team received some good news Wednesday when Jaren Sina committed to the Pirates.
"I'm a Pirate!!!!!! Ready to play for my state!!!!! #SetonHallPirates," Sina said on Twitter.
Ranked as a four star recruit and the No. 24 point guard in the nation, according to ESPN.com, Sina will be a welcome piece to the Pirates' depleted backcourt after sophomore Aaron Cosby announced he was transferring to Illinois and recruit Aquille Carr stating that he was bypassing college to play overseas.
Coming from nearby Gill St. Bernard's in Gladstone, N.J., Sina scored 2,146 points over his prep career while shooting 46 percent from 3-point range. He also led his team to a 91-22 record over his four years at Gill St. Bernard's.
Sina had originally signed with Northwestern back in November but was released from his commitment after former Wildcat head coach Bill Carmody was fired at season's end. Reopening his recruitment, Sina chose Seton Hall over Alabama, Indiana and Northwestern.
He becomes the second member of the Pirates' 2013 recruiting class after the Pirates signed junior college forward, Stephane Manga on Tuesday.
