Former Seton Hall associate head coach and current Saint Peter's head coach Shaheen Holloway has been suspended four games by the University in connection with transfer tampering allegations against Seton Hall's basketball program. Holloway will sit out Saint Peter's exhibition game against New Jersey City University on Thursday night. He will also miss games against Bryant on Nov. 13, Providence on Nov. 16 and Wagner on Nov. 20. "Saint Peter’s University and head men’s basketball coach Shaheen Holloway are committed to a culture of integrity and rules compliance," Saint Peter's said in a statement. "Coach Holloway has been working collaboratively with the NCAA enforcement staff to address an infraction that occurred prior to his employment at Saint Peter’s. Coach Holloway has been fully cooperative with the NCAA enforcement staff. As part of this process, coach Holloway will not coach the men's basketball program's November 7 exhibition contest and the November 13, 16 and 20 games. This matter is still being resolved, and therefore, pursuant to NCAA policy, neither the university nor coach Holloway will comment further." A ruling from the NCAA to determine if Holloway's four-game suspension is sufficient is expected sometime soon. Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard just finished serving his University-implemented two-game suspension and will return to the sideline against Stony Brook on Saturday. The transfer in question is Seton Hall junior Taurean Thompson, who joined the Pirates after spending his freshman year playing for Jim Boeheim at Syracuse. Holloway was Thompson's primary recruiter when he was in high school. Former Seton Hall assistant Ryan Whalen will serve as Saint Peter's acting head coach with Holloway suspended.
