The Seton Hall women's basketball team lost to No. 13 DePaul on Saturday night, extending their losing streak to five games.
The Pirates lost the game against the Blue Demons by a final score of 77-59.
With the loss, the Pirates' record is now 7-12, 0-6 in conference.
DePaul started the game off strong, opening up an 18-2 lead with just a little over five minutes played.
The Pirates also gave up a 21-3 run that put them down by the score of 45-11. Seton Hall then finished the half on a 11-5 run to make the score at halftime 50-22.
DePaul, whose record improved to 19-2 overall and remain undefeated during conference play, were led in scoring by junior forward Keisha Hampton and junior guard Taylor Pikes who each had 16 points for the Blue Demons. Sophomore guard Anna Martin contributed with 12 points and four assists.
Defense was a big key for DePaul, who were able to record 15 steals and six blocked shots against the Pirates. Sophomore forward Katherine Harry led the Blue Demons with three steals and three blocks.
Seton Hall was led by junior forward Kandice Green who contributed with 20 points and six rebounds. Sophomore guard Brittany Morris and junior guard Jasmine Crew each contributed with 11 points.
The Pirates were only able to shoot 30.2 percent from the field, and 6-15 from beyond the three point line. They were also forced into committing 26 turnovers during the game, 18 of which came in the first half and led to 22 points for the Blue Demons.
The Pirates finished the game on a 30-10 run behind the scoring of Green, who had 16 points in the second half.
Seton Hall will stay on the road as they face the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla. on Jan. 25.
