SAB proposes two spring concerts

In addition to a Spring Fling concert to take place in May, the Student Activities Board has proposed a small-scale concert to take place in March.

The proposed small-scale concert would be headlined by the band Good Old War.

Assistant Dean of Students for Student Activities Mariel Pagan was unable to confirm the band's performance.

"In order for an event to happen, an event proposal must be submitted," Pagan said. "We have received over 30 proposals for next semester which are currently being reviewed. I can confirm that we have received a proposal to bring Good Old War for a smaller scale concert in March but the event is not yet confirmed."

Good Old War is a three-man indie band. Their official MySpace page listed no confirmed events past December.

Pagan added that within the music industry, confirmation of a performer for next semester "won't happen until November-January."

Sophomore Kirolous Makarious said he had never heard of the band Good Old War but would not be opposed to going.

Junior Sara Onifer said she would love to attend any concerts on campus, even though she was also unaware of the band Good Old War.

"I don't know what bands I would like to see, but I would definitely be up for anything in the rock or pop genres," Onifer stated.

"I never heard of [Good Old War] but I am open to new bands and would love to hear anyone come play at our school" sophomore Samantha Lynn Nogueira said.

While the SAB has not chosen a set artist for the Spring Fling or possible smaller-scale concert for next semester, several students had suggestions.

"I would love to see Kevin Hart on campus next semester," Makarious stated.

Nogueira added that hearing a country band, such as the Zac Brown Band, would be fun.

Nogueira also said that SAB should reach out to social organizations on campus to help market the event which she believes could encourage student attendance.

Freshman Dominica Hanna, who said she prefers artists like Drake, also agreed that while had not heard of Good Old War, she would not be opposed to attending any concerts that Seton Hall decides to sponsor.

According to sources at a Student Government Association discussion, several potential artists have been contacted for Spring Fling.
