Came to Seton Hall from Maine, leaving a 'Jersey Girl forever'

September 2008, I was a little freshman, far from home, volunteering every Wednesday night for the Setonian. Four years later, still little, now the Graphic Design Editor writing my senior column at one of my last Setonian production nights.

Seton Hall was my "dream school" since I was about 15. My "other" brother went here, and though I don't think I ever told him, he is who I always looked up to, and wanted to be at the same school as him. I came to visit so many times that I never went on an official tour of the school, but have given a few through the years.

So many people supported me throughout my four years. Alpha Phi Omega has become a family that I will always have a bond with, and place in my heart for bringing a purpose back to my life. Liz Rathbun and the entire athletics staff believed in my abilities and gave me the opportunities to show them. And of course the Setonian. Four years of frustration, laughter, and some of the most amazing work I have ever done. Wednesday nights will never be the same without endless hours of design, and people saying "I need something, please don't kill me".

Living so far from Maine, my friends here truly have become my second family. Though they make fun of my accent, my "maineisms" and my athletic affiliations, they mean more to me than I think they will ever know.

In my time here at Seton Hall there have been so many people that have influenced me and made such a meaningful impact to my life that I now consider and refer to Seton Hall as home. In a few weeks when I go to receive my diploma, I know that I won't be leaving Seton Hall behind, because though I hate to admit it, part of me is now a Jersey girl forever.
