The baseball team has rescheduled a postponed game against Saint Peter's University and the teams will play Thursday at Owen T. Carroll Field.
The teams last met on March 19, resulting in a 9-8 victory for the Peacocks in which a late rally by the Pirates fell short in the ninth inning.
The Pirates (15-4) held a 4-1 lead through five innings, but a three-run sixth inning from the Peacocks tied the game.
Saint Peter's (5-15) held the Hall scoreless in their half of the sixth and then went on to score five runs in the seventh to push the lead to 9-4.
The Hall, however, was not out of the game. In the home half of the seventh, the Hall scored three runs on just one hit, beginning with junior D.J. Ruhlman drawing a walk with the bases loaded to bring home sophomore Chris Chiaradio.
Junior Kyle Grimm then grounded out to third, but Derek Jenkins reached the plate for the second run. Junior Sal Annunziata and sophomore Tyler Boyd drew back-to-back walks to bring home sophomore Zack Weigel for the final run of the inning.
After stalling a threatening eighth inning from the Peacocks, the Hall scored one in their half of the eighth to cut the Peacocks' lead to one.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Pirates had the bases loaded with just one out, but senior Chris Selden struck out swinging and freshman Mike Caputo grounded into a fielder's choice that saw senior Jonathan Beaubien thrown out at second for the final out.
Head coach Rob Sheppard declined to comment after the game.
Junior Chris Hugg, and sophomores Rob Moore and Jon Kristoffersen lead Saint Peter's offensively. The three have combined for nearly half of the Peacocks offense, driving in 37 of 80 runs.
Hugg leads the team with 15 RBIs while batting .298 on the year.
Moore has 12 RBIs and is second on the team in batting average, hitting .339 on the year. Kristoffersen has 10 RBIs and a .333 batting average, but has struck out 21 times.
The team as a whole, however, is batting .274 through 20 games and is coming off a 6-3 win over NJIT.
The Hall is coming off a three- game sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson this weekend in which the Pirates outscored the Knights 18-7. Sunday's win was started by junior Anthony Elia. The lefty lasted eight innings striking out five and giving up just one run and five hits.
Boyd and senior ace Josh Prevost earned the Big East Base- ball Player of the Week and Big East Pitcher of the Week honors, respectively. Prevost has now earned six-straight Big East Weekly honors.
Boyd led the Hall with a .500 batting average and launched a pivotal go-ahead, three-run home run in Saturday's 10-5 win over Fairleigh Dickinson.
In Friday's game, Prevost pitched his third complete game of the season, giving up one run and striking out five.
The Hall will play six games over the next week, starting with Thursday's game against Saint Peter's.
The Pirates will then travel to Iona on Friday, to Central Connecticut for a doubleheader on Saturday, to Rider on Tuesday and to Princeton on Wednesday to take on the Tigers.
