Former men's basketball Kelly Whitney was arrested on Thursday night and is facing kidnapping and robbery charges, according to www.NJ.com.
Whitney's arrest came hours after fellow ex-Pirate Robert Mitchell pleaded not guilty to kidnapping and robbery charges of his own.
South Orange police found Whitney at a hotel in Newark late Thursday night, and willing surrendered without incident according to the Essex County Prosecutors Office.
Whitney played on the men's basketball up until 2006.
