New Jersey's Friday earthquake delays Seton Hall basketball team’s return

A 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit Whitehouse, N.J. and was felt across the East Coast this morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

Due to the earthquake, the Seton Hall men’s basketball team's welcome celebration on campus was delayed from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., according to an email from the Seton Hall Athletics.

There was no damage reported on Seton Hall’s South Orange campus, as of April 5.

N.J. Gov. Phil Murphy said that the state’s emergency center was activated on X, formally known as Twitter, advising residents not to call 911 if there is no “actual emergency.”
