Seton Hall Women’s Golf Opens Fall Season at Princeton Invitational

The Pirates opened their season at the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, NJ. Alongside The Hall, the likes of Georgetown, Harvard, and Dartmouth were among the 12 teams invited. The Pirates finished 11th overall with a team score of 923. Big East Conference rival Georgetown took first place with an overall score of 862. 

Senior Ginevra Zavagli led the Pirates in overall score, ending the tournament with a score of 222, nine over par. She had the lowest score for Seton Hall on days one and three. Zavagli tied for 17th place with Mariel Tee from the University of Albany and Natalie Cao from UPenn. She posted 10 birdies across three rounds of play. Her average score across her 72-77-73-222 run was 74, two strokes higher than her 2022-2023 season average. 

Junior Ana Sarrias followed close behind with a respectable 78-75-76-229, 16-over-par performance. Sarrias finished the tournament with six birdies, three of which were in her round two appearance (+4). She tied for 36th with two other golfers. 

Freshman Renee Rane made her Hall debut with a 79-77-81-287, 24-over-par tournament score. She recorded three birdies over three rounds of play, and notably finished round two with only six strokes above par.

The Pirates are slated to play in the Navy Invitational at the Navy Golf Club in Annapolis, Maryland in two weeks, starting Sept. 30 and running to Oct 1.
