Seton Hall Cancelled For 3rd Consecutive Game

No. 15 Seton Hall's matchup against DePaul has been cancelled due to COVID-19 issues within DePaul's program. The forfeited loss has been issued to the Blue Demons, giving Seton Hall the win, their first conference win of the season.

This comes after the cancellation of the Pirates' previous two games against Iona and St. John's. Seton Hall forfeited the matchup against the Red Storm and was assigned a loss. They now sit at 5th place in the Big East with a 1-1 record despite not yet playing a conference game.

An announcement from the Big East Conference read, "The BIG EAST Conference has announced that the Seton Hall at DePaul game, which was scheduled for Thursday, December 23, has been canceled due to COVID issues in the DePaul program.

Per BIG EAST policy, DePaul has forfeited the game and a loss will be assigned in the conference standings. Seton Hall will be assigned a win.

BIG EAST policy states that if a conference game cannot be played on its originally scheduled date due to an insufficient number of available players (including as a result of COVID), that team shall be deemed to have forfeited with a loss assigned to that team. A win will be assigned to its opponent. The win and loss will be applied to the league standings."

Seton Hall's next scheduled game is not until Dec. 29 when the Pirates travel to Rhode Island to take on No. 22 Providence.
