Now that fall is here, Seton Hall students are showing off the season’s latest styles through fashion and makeup.
When choosing a fall outfit, some students said they like to stick to the trends. Madison Mier, a freshman psychology major, said she usually goes for an oversized crew neck with a collar and joggers or cargo pants and a pair of sneakers.
Bianca Polizzi, a freshman biology major, said her go-to fall outfit is a cute sweater or sweatshirt with a skirt, paired with sneakers or Doc Martens.
“I love this look because if it's chilly, I can wear a sweatshirt and not have to worry about being too cold,” Polizzi said. “It is also so comfortable to wear, and I can use this if I am going out to the city or just going to class.”
Several clothing brands have released many new pieces for the fall season. SHEIN, an online clothing store, showcased patchwork jeans, lace tank tops, oversized cardigans, teddy bear jackets and crewnecks on their website. Other new releases from the brand this season include miniskirts, sweaters, graphic T-shirts, sweatshirts and jean jackets.
Vogue’s fall essentials to add to one’s aesthetic include a statement belt, a beanie and a wide variety of different shoes. Sneakers like Jordan 1’s and Nike Air Force 1’s are trending this season, along with Doc Martens and ankle booties.
“A fashion essential for fall is definitely a coat; trench coats are very good for this time of year,” Usran Awa, a freshman business major, said. Other fashion essentials are “a hoodie, some high top sneakers [and] a beanie would be nice as well.”
With incoming fall trends, many clothing items have become out of season.
“Something I wouldn’t wear would be black Air Forces or, honestly, skinny jeans,” Mier said. “I never liked them too much.”
New makeup trends are also making an appearance this fall season. Cosmopolitan indicated that white eyeliner has been popular. Other trends include colorful eyeliner, pops of blue eyeshadow or eyeliner and dark lipstick.
New makeup products have also been added to the mix. Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty line recently launched her most popular product, “Soft Pinch Liquid Blush.”
Kosas came out with their new product “The Big Clean Volumizing + Lash Care Mascara,” which takes care of eyelashes while also acting as a mascara.
Huda Beauty also released their new Haze Obsessions palette in the color Khaki Haze, which includes neutral and dark-toned eyeshadows to embrace the colors of this fall season.
Olivia Mullaney, a freshman biology major, said Laura Mercier’s new translucent setting powder in the color honey looks very natural.
“The Laura Mercier powder has no flashback, and it doesn’t look cakey,” Mullaney said. “It is expensive but worth it.”
