Thanks for doing a story on Criminal Justice in the last issue of The Setonian. After reading it, I wanted to reach out to CJ students and augment some of the information contained there.

I took over as Interim Chair on July 1, 2018, and in mid-July I introduced myself to CJ students by email. At that time, we were in the process of hiring a new faculty member, and we completed that process in time for the start of the Fall semester. Subsequently, I emailed CJ students several times to notify them about events, including a Constitution Day lecture on 9/17 and a CJ majors meeting on 9/24. I hope to remain available and in close contact with CJ students, and to that end I divide my time between my CJ office in A&S 211 and my Political Science office in Jubilee 567. I can always be reached by email at pallitro@shu.edu. I encourage you to contact me, as many CJ students already have, with any concerns or questions.
I’m looking forward to working with you, and with the CJ faculty, to plan a productive year. In addition to addressing day-to-day concerns about scheduling and progress in the curriculum, we are planning to expand internship opportunities, establish a speaker series, invigorate the Criminal Justice Student Organization and revamp the CRIM major, although changes to the major will affect only future incoming students. If you are already here at SHU, your CRIM major requirements will not change.
Once again, I am looking forward to working with all of you, and I hope that you will stop in or write to me if you need my help with anything.
