After not hearing his name called in Thursday night's NBA Draft, former Seton Hall center Angel Delgado has found a new home. Minutes after the draft concluded, Yahoo Sports NBA Insider Shams Charania reported that Delgado agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-way contract. He will begin in the G-League and can spend a maximum of 45 days with the Clippers during the regular season. The base salary for two-way contracts is $75,000 and if Delgado spends the full 45 days with the Clippers, he can earn an additional $204,000. https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1010012223597678592 The most dominant rebounder in college basketball over the past four years, Delgado racked up a career total of 1,455 rebounds and finished with career averages of 12.1 points per game and 11 rebounds per game. Delgado's best season came as a junior, where he averaged 15.2 points per game and 13.1 rebounds per game. Delgado's numbers dipped slightly in his senior year (13.6 points per game and 11.8 rebounds per game), but he remained an instrumental piece for a Seton Hall team that made the NCAA tournament for a third-consecutive season. In Delgado's final game with the Pirates, he posted 24 points and 23 rebounds in a Round of 32 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks. At the conclusion of the year, Delgado took home the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar award as the best center in college basketball. Despite his rebounding prowess, Delgado found himself off many NBA draft boards due to a lack of athleticism and size, along with a spotty jump shot. Through the pre-draft workout process, Delgado impressed. However, it was not enough to make him one of the 60 players selected in the draft. Fellow seniors Khadeen Carrington, Desi Rodriguez and Ismael Sanogo also went undrafted. Beginning with the summer league, Delgado will have a chance to prove he belongs in the NBA. If all goes well, Delgado could carve out a niche with the Clippers as soon as this upcoming season.
