On Saturday, the Seton Hall women’s swim and diving team dominated their Big East rival Providence in their home debut.

After earning 11 event victories the Pirates were able to knock off Providence with a 117-103 defeat. The women’s Pirates will now move to 6-0 on the season. In the meet, the Pirates were able to record two relay wins, as well as nine individual first place finishes by seven different team members to contribute to the domination.
Team members: Melody Bush, Megan Mallon, Tessa Lindner, and Kat Carson combined to record the three fastest times in the 200 medley relay at the start of the competition. After finishing with a time of 1:50.18, this helped set the tone for the Pirates.
Saturday was also a big day for Melody Bush, Megan Mallon, and Kat Carson because they also completed their own first-place performances during the meet to go along with their medley performance.
Freshman, Florida native, Sydney Simpson posted a 59.31 in the 100-fly to help the talented class in their home debut.
It was also a big day for junior diver Gabby Signorelli who completed her season best score of 286.50 on the one meter board. She came just within six points of the Seton Hall school record and earing a trip back to the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.
The Pirates dominated the meet from start to finish as Bush, Carson, and Ronayne along with their freshman teammate, Sam Shirtliff to close the meet with a win in the 200-free relay after finishing in 1:40.46.
It was another great meet for the Pirates who continue look sharp in the pool. It was also a very exciting day for the freshman Pirates who continue to impress.
The Pirates will look to continue their triumphant season as they travel to Piscataway on Friday, November 7. They will be going up against Big East rivals, Rutgers, Georgetown, and Villanova at a two-day quad meet.
