The Seton Hall men's soccer team fell to DePaul by a 3-1 final on Saturday.

The Seton Hall Pirates (2-3-2) fell behind early as just 1:49 into the game, DePaul Blue Demons’ (4-4-1) Simon MeGally scored his first goal of the season to grab the 1-0 lead. Alessandro Thomas scored at the 12:13 mark to put the Blue Demons up by a pair. Thomas would add another for DePaul, who exited the first half up 3-0.
The lone goal for the Pirates came in the final six seconds of the match. Kai Greene’s goal from Samuel Geiler cancelled the shutout attempt by Mack Robinson of DePaul. The goal by Greene was his fourth of the season.
Despite their inability to score the ball, the Pirates did a nice job setting up opportunities. The Pirates had seven shots in both the first and second half and out shot the Blue Demons 14-8.
Execution and finishing will certainly be a point of emphasis moving forward.
Though sophomore goalkeeper, Julian Spindler allowed three goals, he also made three saves on the Blue Demon’s eight shots.
Freshman Patrick Burd picked up the lone yellow card of the match.
In their next match, the Pirates will take a break from Big East play, on the road against Drexel, Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 7:00 pm.
