Seton Hall University, in conjunction with the Parking Task Force, is exploring satellite parking and gravelling the Galleon Lawn as possible temporary parking solutions.
According to Dr. Tracey Gottlieb, vice president of student services, the University is hoping to reach a decision by the end of the week to help quickly alleviate some overcrowding in on-campus lots.
"My hope is to have [the parking problem] solved in 15 months," Gottlieb said.
Surveys administered by the Parking Task Force found that satellite parking was favored among the Seton Hall community.
According to Gottlieb, satellite parking would entail shuttling from an off-campus parking location.
Gottlieb attributes the current parking issue on campus to "positive growing pains."
"This shows Seton Hall University is on the move," Gottlieb said. "Your degree will be more valuable as the University makes its way among the top universities."
