The Student Government Association held the "Meet the Candidates" event on Tuesday night to introduce students running for positions for the 2013- 14 academic year.
SGA's current executive board, including President Joseph Donato and Vice President Mario Costa, are running unopposed for their second term. Treasurer Ashley Jefferson and Secretary Dolores Bujnowski also are unopposed.
SGA's at-large senator position has six open seats and only six candidates running.
Wesley Satterwhite is an incumbent and has been working on various projects, including the airport shuttle service during break for students.
"I would like to be re-elected again so I can finish the work that I have already started," Satterwhite said.
Other candidates including Kayla Weinman, addressed issues such as parking.
The Arts & Sciences senators positions have six open seats with eight students running.
Drew Holden, a current senator and the Academic Affairs Committee chairman, has worked on extending library hours and working out class schedules.
"Next year I would like to focus on online classrooms," Holden said.
The Education, Diplomacy and Resident senator seats are open with no candidates running.
Christian Jamandre said he wants to serve the students of the Nursing School by increasing tutoring to make the students better nurses.
The Commuter and Business Senators are unopposed.
