New ABC sitcom fails to engage viewers

ABC's new sitcom, "How to Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)" is not believable, entertaining or even that engaging but it really does bring up the question of what students really do after they graduate.

"How to Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)" starring Sarah Chalke, premiered last week. The show started with a frantic, newly divorced mom, Polly, whose entire life was stored in a laundry basket and her car coming to her parents for help. Flash to six months later and her daughter magically has matching shoes, she is put together and is the responsible mother that knows how to do everything for her daughter. This transformation seemed rather abrupt and highly unlikely considering she works at a grocery store.

While Polly's transformation may be hard to believe, it's not as far-fetched as her parents' complete lack of knowledge about parenting. For people who are not that old and had already raised a child, acting as if the word "bath" is foreign is not very plausible.

Though the show had major flaws, the overall theme of fear of independence that people face is definitely recognizable.
