Swedish House Mafia made one junior's early break better

Who decided spring break should come before the start of spring or daylight saving time for that matter? It seems that starting spring break roughly 39 days into the semester seems a little sudden. Fortunately for most students, they had the opportunity to leave town but for those who were stuck in New Jersey, there wasn't any­thing to do.

The fact that students had to start spring break four days into March is slightly bogus. Granted no one can predict the future but I believe having a break in the beginning of March doesn't even give anyone the opportunity to wait for nice spring weather.

Having spring break a little later in March would also give students more time to plan ahead for a va­cation.

The first week of February many people are just getting settled into the semester, few are thinking of taking time off.

Unfortunately for me, I did not get to travel too far. New York City was the destination spot for me. My epic event was a Swedish House Mafia concert. They played at Madison Square Garden the Fri­day Seton Hall Pirates set sail for warmer weather.

Although I've seen them prob­ably four times prior to their "One Last Tour," the concert was re­ally fun. I recieved floor tickets as a gift so that helped boost my level of enjoyment up. Ending at midnight, the concert was over extremely early. Generally for vet­eran Swedish House Mafia fans, a one and half hour set is pretty short for a headliner at Madison Square Garden.

The concert was originally set to begin at 8 p.m. but at the last minute Madison Square Garden posted a notice on the website say­ing the concert had been changed to 7 p.m.

Nonetheless, I was impressed by the show. Matur­ing with Swedish House Mafia, I re­ally wasn't expect­ing too much but "they came, the raved, they con­quered" or so the group of disc jock­eys claim.

Swedish House Mafia then hit Southern California, my home state, and performed the first half of the set in the pouring rain. Ac­cording to my California friends, the concert was a blast.

With the being said, spring break could have been worse. If I hadn't gone to the Swedish House Mafia concert, I would have been sub­jected to hearing about all the fun secondhand.
