Bulls up next for the 2nd time this season for women's basketball

The University of South Flor­ida Bulls will play host to the women's basketball team on Sat­urday.

Seton Hall is coming off a loss to Villanova by a score of 63-34 on Wednesday night. Freshman forward Tabatha Richardson-Smith was the leading scorer for the Pirates with 12 points, her second consecutive double-digit performance.

"We just need to pick our heads up and play as a team," Richardson-Smith said after the game against Villanova. "All we can do at this point is learn from our mistakes and move forward."

Seton Hall's leading scorer Brittany Morris struggled against the Wildcats putting up only sev­en points. In her previous game against the Fighting Irish, Mor­ris finished with 16 points with four 3-pointers. Morris leads the Pirates averaging 12.6 points per game to go along with 49 three pointers on the season.

Redshirt-sophomore guard Ka-Deidre Simmons is second on the team in scoring averaging 11.1 points per game along with her team-leading 45 steals. Sim­mons also leads Seton Hall in as­sists with 83.

The Pirates (8-15, 3-7) suf­fered a 74-52 loss the last time these two Big East teams squared off on Jan. 22. Morris and Rich­ardson-Smith scored 15 points apiece for Seton Hall in the loss.

South Florida's senior guard Andrea Smith led the team in points with 21 and grabbed six rebounds in the victory.

She is currently leading the Bulls in scoring with 17.4 points per game.

After blowing out their pre­vious opponents Pittsburgh and Providence, the Bulls (16-7, 5-5) recently fell to Big East foe St. Johns by a score of 65-59. Freshman forward Alisia Jenkins stayed hot in the loss recording her third straight double-double. Jenkins scored a team-high 17 points to go along with 10 boards on the day.

Seton Hall ran into foul trou­ble early against the Bulls and surrendered 28 points on 33 free throw attempts.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Sun Dome.
