Seton Hall beats Wake Forest on road

The Seton Hall men's basketball team defeated Wake Forest on the road 71-67 Saturday night thanks to a big second-half comeback.

The Hall went into the half down 36-27 and Wake Forest eventually lengthened their lead to the 14, the largest of the game for either team.

With just over four and a half minutes remaining in the game, the Pirates were able to tie the game at 59 on a layup by freshman guard Tom Maayan.

After a few quick lead changes, sophomore forward Brandon Mobley stole the ball, broke out in transition and dunked to give the Hall a 68-67 lead, one they would not give back.

Junior guard Fuquan Edwin led the Pirates with 24 points and seven rebounds. Center Eugene Teague added 19 points and eight rebounds, seven off the offensive glass.

Wake Forest guard C.J. Harris led all players in scoring with 28 points, shooting 70 percent from behind the arc in the game.

The Hall opened up the game on a 9-2 run that eventually turned into an 11-4 lead, but Wake Forest responded with a 16-3 run to take the lead back.

The Pirates then went on a 6-0 run to tie the game. After being tied at 23, Wake Forest sank three 3-point shots and two layups while the Hall was kept to four points in the last three and a half minutes in the half.

This win, their second over the Demon Deacons in two years, brings the Pirates to 7-2 on the season.

The Pirates return to action for a two game home stand Sunday Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. against North Carolina A&T.
