The women's soccer team dropped their fifth consecutive match on Saturday to No. 24 Notre Dame, 5-1.
The Pirates continued to struggle offensively, as they were unable to get a shot off until the 54th minute of the game, and finished with a total of three shots.
The Irish opened up the scoring in the seventeenth minute when junior forward Elizabeth Tucker headed in a cross from teammate Brittany Von Rueden.
Six minutes later the Irish tacked on a second goal, this time scored on a header from freshman defender Katie Naughton from another cross from a corner kick off the foot of Von Rueden.
In the second half, the troubles continued for the Pirates when a cross was sent in and freshman goalkeeper Gina Maiorana was unable to handle it and dropped the ball leaving it on a platter for Tucker who tapped in the third goal of the game. In the 71st minute, sophomore forward Lauren Bohaboy scored on another goal in front of the net on a back heel.
Four minutes later the Pirates offense gained some life when Kaitlyn Ritter scored off a rebound in front of the Irish net. Ritter's goal was started by a corner kick taken by junior Brittany Albrecht.
The troubles for the Pirates were not over though, when in the eighty-eighth minute the Irish scored the game's final goal, when freshman forward Anna Gilbertson put away a shot from 10-yards out.
The Pirates are back in action against DePaul at 2 p.m. on Sunday in Chicago.
