Men's soccer loses Big East Opener to Syracuse

The men's soccer team's two-game winning streak was snapped on Saturday as the Pirates lost its first Big East match by one goal as Syracuse beat the Pirates,1-0.

The lone goal came in the 26th minute off the foot of Orange freshman Jordan Vale, after finishing a cross.

The Pirates attempted to rally back in the second half, with five shots on goal, however no Pirate connected with the back of the net.

Goalie Michael Kuzan made a career-high 14 saves on the night.

The Pirates will look to rebound on Wednesday, Oct.3 against Providence College.
