The Seton Hall women's basketball team enters its final two games of the season still searching for its first Big East win.
The Pirates (7-21, 0-14 Big East) are coming off a loss on Tuesday night to the No. 24 Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 62-39, in Piscataway, N.J. The loss is the team's 16th straight on the season.
On Sunday, the Pirates fell 54-48 to the Cincinnati Bearcats. In the loss, the Pirates trailed 34-18 with 16:56 remaining.
The Pirates pulled to within three points with 2:24 remaining in the game but could not complete the comeback.
According to head coach Anne Donovan, the Pirates have fought back from numerous second-half deficits this season, but they have not been able to come away with a Big East victory.
"Just keep plugging away," Donovan said. "Most of the games that we've competed in we've been in."
The Pirates, who have not won a Big East game in over a year, had their last win in conference with a victory over Cincinnati on Feb. 12, 2011.
If the Hall fails to win a game, it will be the first time a Big East women's team did not win a conference game since Providence went 0-16 in 2004-05.
The Friars also failed to win a game in the 2003-04 season.
The team's final two games of the season will be at Pittsburgh on Saturday and a home game against Louisville on Tuesday, where the team will honor its seniors.
Pittsburgh comes into the game with a record of 8-19, however, the Panthers are also 0-14 in conference this season.
Historically, the Pirates are 21-26 all time against Pittsburgh, but are only 2-8 in their last 10 matchups, including four straight losses.
The last game between the two teams was a 64-58 Panther victory at Walsh Gymnasium.
On Tuesday, the Pirates will take on the Louisville Cardinals (19-8, 8-6). The Hall has never defeated Louisville, with an all-time record of 0-6.
The Pirates will honor their two senior leaders, guard Jasmine Crew and center Tajay Ashmeade.
Ashmeade has solidified herself as a top rebounder, grabbing an average of 8.4 boards per game, good for fifth in the conference.
Crew is the third leading scorer in the conference, averaging 18.4 points per game, more than a full point ahead of the fourth leading scorer, Notre Dame's junior guard Skylar Diggins.
Diggins was a preseason favorite for Big East Player of the Year.
Crew said she knows the team is on a losing streak, but echoed her coach's sentiments.
"We're still looking for our first Big East win," Crew said. "Like coach said, we have to take it one game at a time, and that's what we're going to do."
