The Seton Hall men's basketball team will participate in the 2012 Naismith Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., according to a press release.
The tournament is hosted by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and is set for the weekend of November 16-18.
In addition to Seton Hall, the other teams scheduled to take part are Loyola University Maryland, Norfolk State University, Ohio State University, University of Albany, University of Missouri-Kansas, University of Rhode Island and University of Washington.
The bracket in which the Hall will play, named the Naismith bracket, features Ohio State, Rhode Island, and Washington, the only major conference teams participating.
"This is a great opportunity for our program to participate in one of the marquee early season events on the national calendar," said Seton Hall head coach Kevin Willard. "We're proud to be a part of a tournament that celebrates the tradition and history of our sport."
This season, the team finished in second place at the Charleston Classic in South Carolina, where they went 2-1.
