The men's basketball lost their fifth straight of the season at No. 15 Marquette, 66-59, tonight in Milwaukee Wisc.
For the Hall (15-7, 4-6), who held an 11 point lead in the first half, it marked the team's first loss of the season while leading at halftime.
Marquette (19-4, 8-2) won its seventh straight game on the season.
The Golden Eagles were lead by forward Jae Crowder, who had 20 points, on 6-11 shooting, and 12 rebounds.
Marquette also received a lift by a career performance from sophomore guard Vander Blue. Blue scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
The Pirates were lead by senior forward Herb Pope, recorded 16 points and seven rebounds in just 28 minutes of action because of foul trouble.
Pirate guard Jordan Theodore's shooting struggles continued, as he scored seven points, on 3-14 shooting from the field.
The team struggled as well, managing just 39.7 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.
The first half started differently as the Pirates grabbed an 11 point lead halfway through the period. The Golden Eagles managed to cut the lead to four points by the end of the period, 30-26.
In the second half, the Pirates took a six point lead, 38-32, but a 18-5 run would put the Pirates down 50-41.
Freshman guard Freddie Wilson ended the run with an up and under lay-up, drawing the foul, however could not convert from the line.
After a Marquette turnover, sophomore forward Fuquan Edwin hit a 3-pointer from the left elbow, bringing the Pirates within four, 50-46.
After bringing the lead back up to eight, and poor transition defense from Theodore, Marquette guard Darius Johnson-Odem was able to slip past Theodore and convert the layup to extend the lead to 10.
Wilson and Edwin hit back to back layups to bring the lead back to six.
After a Marquette answer, Wilson hit a 3-pointer to bring the lead to 5 with 3:25 remaining.
An Edwin free throw cut the lead to four, but on their next possession with 2:04 remaining, the Pirates were called for a shot clock violation.
The Golden Eagles hit their free throws to seal the victory.
The Pirates next travel to Hartford Conn. to take on the UConn Huskies. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m.
