Starting the season with their best record since the 1992-93 season, the men's basketball finished non-conference play with a 87-61 win over the Longwood Lancers.
The victory improves the Pirates record to 11-1, behind the performances or senior Jordan Theodore and sophomore Fuquan Edwin.
Theodore recorded 26 points and 6 assists, while Edwin scored 20 points on 9-12 shooting from the floor. As a team the Hall shot 57 percent and forced 16 Longwood turnovers.
Longwood jumped out to an early lead 17-6 lead with 15:53 remaining in the first half, forcing head coach Kevin Willard call a timeout.
Out of the time out the Pirates went on a 10-0 run cutting the Lancers lead down to one. Freshman sean Grennan then made a three pointer to give the Hall their first lead of the game at 21-20.
From that point the Pirates never relinquished the lead. With 9:24 remaining in the second half the Hall went on a 15-2 run to put the game away.
Next, the team travels to the Carrier Dome to face the No. 1 Syracuse Orange on Dec. 28 at 7:00 p.m.
