Sophomore golfer Brandon Park was named to the 2011 All-Big East Team for the second consecutive year as was announced on Thursday by the conference office.
The Weston, Fla. native was chosen among 11 other golfers in the conference in addition to being only one of four to receive the honor in both of the previous two seasons.
Last year he was named Big East Freshman of the Year after leading the Pirates in stroke averages for both the fall and spring seasons. Park further improved on that feat this season as he brought his average to 73.80 while starting in all 11 tournaments and achieving three Top-10 finishes. He also tied for 10th place in this year's conference championship.
Of the tournaments already played in the 2010-2011 season, Park was the top golfer on the Pirates' roster in six and second-best in the remaining five. In the first tournament of the season, the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate in Verona, N.Y., he tied for second place.
Up next for the men's golf team is the Cavalier Classic in Charlottesville, Va., and this will be their final competition of the 2011 spring season.
