NBC's "The Celebrity Apprentice" has always been associated with drama. Whether it is Omarosa fighting with her fellow cast mates, Donald Trump yelling at contestants or celebrities being overly dramatic after being fired, each season of "The Apprentice" brings a new batch of unique individuals and excitement.
The highly anticipated new season is sure to bring even more drama than the past seasons.
The 11th installment of "The Celebrity Apprentice" will premiere Sunday at 9 p.m. on NBC.
In the show, 16 celebrities compete in teams to win money for charities of their choice. Each week, teams are assigned a business task within or around New York City and are asked to select a project manager for the task. After the task is complete, the two teams have a boardroom meeting with Trump and his advisors, which includes his daughter Ivanka Trump and son Donald Trump Jr., to determine the winner.
The winning team receives a reward while the losing team has a showdown to determine who should be fired. Each week, one member of the losing team will hear Donald Trump's famous phrase "You're fired" and be eliminated from the show.
The women's team consists of Star Jones, former co-host of "the View;"LaToya Jackson, singer and sister of the late Michael Jackson; Nene Leakes, cast member of Bravo's "Real Housewives of Atlanta;" actress Lisa Rinna; Niki Taylor, supermodel; Dionne Warwick, Grammy- winning singer and Whitney Houston's aunt; Hope Dworaczyk, playboy playmate and Marlee Matlin, Oscar winning actress.
Richard Hatch, "Survivor" champion; Meat Loaf, Grammy winning rock musician; Mark McGrath, singer and television host; Lil Jon, rapper; Jose Conseco, baseball player; John Rich, country singer; Gary Busey, actor and David Casey, actor and singer are members of the opposing men's team.
Of course, when big personalities like those on this season of "The Apprentice" come together, there are bound to be fights. This season promises to not disappoint. In the previews, it is revealed that there are going to be scuffles between Rinna and Warwick and Meat Loaf and Busey, among others.
One of the most anticipated moments this season is a fight between Leakes and Jones. Leakes is a very outspoken housewife that will not back down to anyone, while Jones is also a big personality that had to hold her own on "The View."
The drama between these two has even seemed to go beyond the show. Recently on "The Wendy Williams Show," Leakes told Williams that she "would not spit on Star if she was on fire."
Jones has remained quiet about the drama until recently. In "Life" and "Style" magazine, she commented on the fight between herself and Leakes.
"I did ‘Celebrity Apprentice'to raise money and awareness for a charity (the American Heart Association) that has been instrumental in my life, not to see it reduced to a cliché where black women attack one another for publicity's sake," Jones stated.
Leakes has also been rumored to have problems with Warwick and Jackson on the show. Leakes compared the way that Jackson looked to Casper the friendly ghost; however, their problems seemed to have been resolved since the end of filming.
Shaniel Champagnie, a sophomore at Seton Hall is excited for the new season, particularly to see her favorite Atlanta housewife on the show.
"Nene will definitely spice things up and bring the heat," she said. "Her ‘tell it like it is' attitude will stir things up. I just hope Donald Trump can handle it."
"Celebrity Apprentice" is a must-see on Sunday night. Watching celebrities compete to win money for their charities is enjoyable and entertaining and seeing a good fight on reality television adds to the entertainment.
