All that Bobby Gonzalez has to do to avoid a criminal record resulting from his shoplifting incident in July is successfully complete community service and pay restitution for a year.
Gonzalez, who was arrested for stealing a satchel valued at $1,400 from the Polo Ralph Lauren Store at the Mall at Shorts Hills this past summer, entered into pretrial intervention today in Newark, according to multiple media outlets.
According to a report by NJ.com, the decision clarified that if he does the community service and pays the compensation, the charge would be permanently dismissed.
Gonzalez said he is happy with the way the case ended.
