Joyce Strawser has been named Acting Dean of the Stillman School of Business, according to a broadcast e-mail sent to the Seton Hall community on Wednesday.
Strawser will replace former Dean Karen Boroff whose resignation will be effective June 30 as previously reported by The Setonian.
Strawser is currently Associate Dean of Undergraduate and MBA Curricula for the Stillman School. She is also an associate professor of accounting.
Strawser was "critical" to the accounting department's achievement of accreditation by AACSB-International, according to the broadcast e-mail.
The e-mail also said Strawser "played a major role" in preparing Stillman's maintenance of accreditation of its business programs.
Strawser has been a member of Seton Hall's faculty since 1995, according to her faculty profile on Seton Hall's web site.
Before coming to Seton Hall, she was a faculty member at Baruch College in New York City, along with serving as a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board, which sets financial accounting and reporting standards for the U.S.
