According to multiple reports, recently fired men's basketball head coach Bobby Gonzalez has sued his former employer in regards to his termination.
The lawsuit was filed on Friday in federal court located in Newark.
Gonzalez was let go on March 17, not long after Seton Hall's opening round NIT loss amid controversy after sophomore forward Herb Pope was ejected for a below-the-waste punch to an opposing player.
Coincidentally, the day Gonzalez was fired was also the day the Essex County Prosecutor's Office announced the arrest of former player Robert Mitchell. Gonzalez threw Mitchell off the team only days prior to the arrest.
Although there has been speculation, sources are reporting that Gonzalez did in fact sign a contract extension through 2015 last fall.
